Food is excellent. The burger tastes like you actually cooked it over charcoal. The meat loaf was great too. Manager came over and offered free dessert. So made up for the rocky experience. Bumping my review from 1 star to 3.
Food and service were great but first impressions are everything, with that said proper training for host/hostess should be addressed.
Came for lunch on a Saturday. Service was absolutely awful. Waited forever to be seated. We were given 2 small pieces of cornbread for our 15 minute wait. When the server finally came by, she said “yeah this is the table I haven’t gotten yet”. Then finally took our drink orders. I miss when this restaurant was at the country club. My advice: fire all your wait staff and start fresh.
Place looks classy. Food is oversized. Beer is not cold. French fries are on point. Not busy but takes a while to get secondary service. It was ok.
Craft beers are unreasonably high. Six bucks a pint for Southern Prohibition. Pool tables need work.
This is where you want to eat. Don't hesitate. Get there and enjoy. The cheese fritters were wonderful and the duck was amazing. Even the humble sides, sweet potatoes and collards, were an elevation over any expectations we had. Why are you still reading this instead of booking a table?
